Keishawn & Jason will be exchanging their vows this year on May 5, 2012 in Natchez,MS. I always look forward to traveling back home to do a weddings especially in Natchez because of the scenery & history of the small town on the Mississippi River. Well Keishawn, Jason, & I along with Keishawn’s mom & my wife (my assistant for the day) walked the streets of downtown Natchez for their engagement session. We all had a great time despite it being very windy & unusually cool that day. Through it all I was able to get some really great images of Keishawn & Jason together doing what they do best, enjoying each others company & just having fun. See for yourself as we review their engagement session.

This year I will be kicking off the 2011 wedding season this weekend with the wedding ceremony of Jasmine & Omarie. We are all from the same hometown so I’ve known Omarie for quite some time. I’m happy to start the wedding season off right with such a deserving & blessed couple. We enjoyed hanging out during their engagement session a couple months ago as I also got a chance to preview their wedding reception venue. Their reception will take place at the Natchez Eola Hotel in downtown Natchez so I’m definitely looking forward to it. Well here are a few shots from their engagement session that I wanted to share with you all so feel free to give me some feedback!

I recently met up with a great couple Percy & Kimberly to do their engagement session. Instantly I could see and feel the unconditional love Percy & Kimberly have for each other. They go together like peanut butter & jelly! lol. Well we waisted no time getting into the session with both parties being equally excited. There was a location in the area I couldn’t wait to try out that was “perfect” for an engagement session & perfect for Kimberly & Percy. So we started out at the reservoir in Jackson, which is also where Percy proposed to Kimberly. I wanted to incorporate that significant location into their session and everything else just seemed to come together after that. After finishing up there we took a trip to the Renaissance mall in Madison to continue with the second half of the session. This is the location I really was looking forward to photography Kimberly & Percy. It was a different environment but different in a good way. We took photos here, there, & a little bit of everywhere including Books-a-million and at P.F. Changs (one of my favorite restaurants).

One of the things I liked most about Kimberly & Percy was that they were naturally comfortable in front of the camera which allowed me to truly capture their individual personalities as well as the strong chemistry between them. I think you all will agree with me when I say that you can tell from viewing these images that Percy & Kimberly are very much in love with each other. Well, well, well….what can I say? Larry & Sara tricked me lol. Larry & I are good college buddies that go back all the way to freshman year (BOND-HALL, SMTTT!!! ). I got a call from Larry one day saying that he & Sara wanted to just take a few photos together. Nothing to elaborate or formal. Well what do you know, right before we began the session they told me that they were going to California & getting married the very next week. So this “informal” not so “elaborate” portrait session turned into a full fledged Engagement session. I didn’t mind at all though & I was happy for them both (did I forget to mention SHOCKED as well). So anyway I mentally switched to “engagement session” mode & it was on from there. The park we were at was a really good location, especially as the evening sun began to set. I really love the images I captured of Larry & Sara. Trust me its not easy getting Larry to smile, its a very RARE event lol… I hope you all enjoy these images & don’t forget to leave your comments !

I had to pleasure of photographing another great engagement session with one more of my college buddies Reggie and his fiance’ LaDonna. This was probably one of my most laid back sessions to date. The only instructions I had for them was to just have fun & pretend like I wasn’t even there. As you can see from these images they did just that! I’m also glad that we chose to shoot down at the train depot. I’ve done several other portrait sessions there but each one is unique in its own way. It was really hard to choose which photos I wanted to share with you all but I’ve narrowed it down to the images below so enjoy !!! See you in September at the wedding & thanks again !!!

I’ve actually known Brian & Rhonda since freshman year at The University of Southern Mississippi so its always good to catch up & reminisce on old times with fellow alumni.  We met up during one of Rhonda & Brian’s weekend visits to Hattiesburg (which also happened to be QUE-DELTA weekend) to do their Engagement Portraits. Here are a few images from Willie + Orisha’s engagement portrait session. We decided to shoot in Natchez,MS on the hill by the Mississippi River bridge. I really enjoyed capturing the true & natural love between Willie & Orisha. The scenery there in Natchez is always wonderful & definitely a great place for portraits. Not to mention the great overcast we were lucky enough to have for this shoot. Hope you enjoy & feel free to comment!

I have the pleasure of being selected by Nick & Evette to capture their special moment during their wedding ceremony this March. These are a few images from the two engagement session we did in Hattiesburg, MS. The first session took place on the campus of my alma mater “The University of Southern Mississippi” and the second session we shot in downtown Hattiesburg,MS. I always enjoy the challenge of capturing that moment between a couple in which they give you a peek into the unconditional love that they share for each other. Another great engagement session goes down in the books. This engagement session took place in downtown Hattiesburg, MS at the train depot, one of my favorite spots. Johnny & Alisia will be getting married this summer & they have given me the honor of capturing those priceless moments on their special day. We go way back to our freshman year at The University of Southern Mississippi (SOUTHERN MISS TO THE TOP !!!). I can remember that year as if it was yesterday & I think so does everyone else that came in the year of 2001! Anyway I digress…. I loved capturing the essence & innocence of the loving bond they share & I think it really shows through these images. There were so many great images to choose from I just can’t choose a favorite. However, one of the images that really stand out to me is the image of them standing under the “Hattiesburg” sign. This photograph is significant because that is where the two of them met & their lifelong journey together began. I wish the both of you a lifetime of happiness & prosperity!
